Choose the question before generating a bracket
Vote on one question: which title would we watch together, which opening do we prefer, or which story did we enjoy most? Avoid mixing criteria between rounds. The generator samples catalogue entries; it does not judge their quality.
Entries are catalogue titles, so different seasons or movies from one franchise can appear together. They are distinct records, not necessarily distinct franchises. Regenerate if that conflicts with your house rules.
How the rounds work
Eight entries produce rounds of 8 → 4 → 2 → 1: four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and a final. Sixteen entries add an opening round of eight matches. Every match eliminates exactly one entry, giving n − 1 matches overall.
Select one winner in each displayed pair. The Advance round control requires all pairs to have a selection. The winner labels and past rounds remain visible so participants can follow the result.
Set a tie-break before voting
For a group, take one vote per person per match. Agree in advance whether a tied vote uses a host’s deciding vote, a short discussion and re-vote, or a random coin toss. The site records the winner you choose; it does not collect audience ballots.
An entry with a first-round bye has fewer matches than other entries. The current tool uses powers of two, so 8 and 16 entries require no byes. Seeding and automatic ranking are not implemented.
Share the outcome with context
Copy the tournament result after the final, including the champion and round history. Include your judging question when sharing: “our group’s next watch” means something different from “the best anime”.
For a smaller activity, use the team generator to draw 3–5 distinct characters. A team draw is a separate activity and does not run voting rounds.
